![]() Or do we have to spend more money on a larger vCenter option and might kill this for us. The question is, can I build a single vCenter Server Essentials server and add licenses so I can mange 6 or 9 VM servers (getting 2 or 3 kits) ? I am assuming this means, 3 vm servers, AKA hosts. ![]() I noticed on vCenter Server Essentials detail page, it only supports up to 3 hosts. of VMware vSphere (calculation of license according to the CPU number) and used authorization for one sets of VMware vCenter Management Server standard. To fit our current VMs, we would need 2 or 3 of these. This I should be able to push this through management (start of the year, new budgets !) ![]() Sounds great and it would be nice to manage our VMs in one spot, and be able to do VM based backups that it all supports. This is also a perpetual license, so no expire date, just order based on updates. I ran across VMware vSphere Essentials Kit, this supports up to 3 VM servers with a max of 2 CPUs on each and it includes vCenter Server Essentials, starting at $576.96. It works great and I've worked with VMware for years and love it. We have been running free ESX our office, just because of the full product costs, we could never get it to pass management budgets (esp when we can get it for free). This is just a simple question over Licensing.
